Do you think dental & eye care should be free for all in the uk?

- Chosen by Voters No I don't think it should be totally free, but it should certainly be affordable. I think that it should be free for those people who need it on severe medical grounds. For example, people who have underlying health complaints that are causing secondary problems with their eyes and teeth. I also think it should be free for those who require urgent treatment. Preventative medicine is always best in the long run as it costs both the individual and the Government less money in the long term. We are very lucky in this country in terms of having a free health care system, which lets face it, is continually abused by for example, people calling out the paramedics for in growing toe nails. The problem is, we as a society, have come to expect free heath care, so therefore when we suddenly have to pay for it we are up in arms about the cost etc etc. Many countries don't receive such benefits and have to rely on charities such as the Red Cross. They also get left with staggering health care bills. I think our health care system is really good and we should appreciate it more than we do. Having said that the NHS spends over £70 million per year on managers cars. Now that I deplore. Source(s): ex nurse 6 years ago 40% 2 Votes 1 person rated this as good
