Do you think the lack of dental care in this country is at epidemic level?
I would say the cost of dental care is out of reach for many without a group plan. Thats why so many people have missing teeth.Dental plans and dental insurance for the individual is pretty useless. There can be a 18 month wait period while you pay premiums to get serious work done. If you have a group plan you do somewhat better even with the $1000 llimit per year. I have no dental insurance since dentists in my area wont even accept individual insurance for certain things and pay very little compared to actual cost. So I pay cash. I discussed this with my dentist. The dental clinics and dental colleges are not that cheap and take months to get an appointment. I had a GE Care Credit medical-dental card and used that up. My Medicare plan just started to offer limited dental benefit but the dentists are not the greatest. I have not been there yet.
